Grovelands Mosaic
(Mosaic Dimensions - 2 metres x 1 metre)
The school wanted an exterior mosaic to be displayed on a wall next to the main entrance area. The children were asked to produce drawings of different parts of the school, plus key images and characters connected with the school. From these I produced a range of designs which the school chose from.
All of the children helped to construct his mosaic.

This mosaic depicts a range of Christian Symbols which were designed by the children.
Every child at the school helped to construct the mosaic along with members of staff, parents and governors.
A range of glass tesserae tiles have been used, including specialist light reflective tiles and gold leaf, which capture and reflect the light.
The mosaic is sited in the main hall over the alter and provides a beautiful focal point as well as useful teaching aid for this church school.

The cross measures 2.5 cm in height and 1.4 cm in width. It is made out of zinc coated steel which has been mosaicked with a mixture of iridescent, silver leaf and blue and purple vitreous glass tiles.
